Snapshots

What is a Snapshot?

A "Snapshot" is a screenshot that Plus can automatically take for you, over and over, on a schedule or on demand.

Taking a Snapshot

You can take a Snapshot of virtually any site or app that you can access in a browser.

  1. Navigate to the page with the dashboard or chart you want to capture.

  2. Open the Plus extension and click on "Take a Snapshot." Or use the Shift + Cmd + S shortcut (Shift + Ctrl + S on Windows)

  3. A new window will pop up where you can take the Snapshot.

  4. Scroll to the chart or area you want to capture. Click and drag to draw a box to capture your Snapshot, just like taking a screenshot.

On some apps and sites, we also highlight the most commonly captured content and offer a one click capture option. These elements will be outlined in blue and you can click "Take Snapshot" to capture them.

Your Snapshot is now queued and will be processed automatically. You can immediately rename your Snapshot or change how often it automatically refreshes. You can also take another Snapshot on the same page or close this recording window.

As soon as you take a Snapshot, it will appear in your extension and app in a pending state. It can take up to a minute for a Snapshot to finish processing.

Viewing your Snapshots

Your Snapshots are created in your Drafts by default. You can always find all the Snapshots you have taken and the Team Snapshots you have access to in the web app at app.plusdocs.com.

You can also find the most recent Snapshots you've taken in your Plus extension. Click on them to open them in Plus.

Refreshing Snapshots

By default, newly taken Snapshots will automatically refresh every day. You can update this setting in Snapshot settings.

You can also refresh a Snapshot at any time.
